HOEVEN DIRECTS FLAGS TO BE FLOWN AT HALF-STAFF ON DECEMBER 7
FOR PEARL HARBOR REMEMBRANCE DAY
BISMARCK, ND – Gov. John Hoeven today directed that the United States and North Dakota flags be flown at half-staff on government and public buildings on Monday, December 7 in honor of those who lost their lives serving this country at Pearl Harbor. The Governor’s directive is in accordance with a proclamation issued by the President designating December 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
“On this solemn day, we honor the American lives that were lost at Pearl Harbor and the brave men and women who selflessly served our nation at home and abroad during World War II, defending our shores and our freedom,” said Hoeven. “We must never forget the sacrifice that was made at Pearl Harbor and the heroism and resolve that defined that fateful day. Today and every day, we honor all of our veterans and the new generation of patriots who are carrying on our country’s proud tradition of duty and service.”
