Black History Month Ideas

FEBRUARY IS BLACK
HISTORY MONTH

RaceBridges For Schools presents to you four free lesson plans to honor, explore and celebrate African American History in your classroom in the month of February . . . or at any time. True stories ... challenging and also fun too.

Three of these lesson plans are engaging original stories, told by professional storytellers.

They include teacher guides with audio-downloads/texts and student activities.

One unit contains three short stories told by a white woman and the other two lesson plan-stories are by two black men.

The fourth lesson plan "Black History: We All Have A Race: Addressing Race & Racism" presents a way to understand the concept of race better, to distinguish between prejudice and racism, and to learn ways to stand up against racism and to act as allies with students of different races.

Go to www.RaceBridgesForSchools.com for your free lesson plans that explore in different ways, the traditions, themes and challenges we face as we honor Black History Month. Also see over 20 diversity lesson plans and resources on a variety of themes for the classroom.
