Hi,
The North Dakota Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) has been charged with developing and implementing the model to enable statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE). We believe your input will be extremely valuable in ensuring the project’s success. We invite you to participate in one of the upcoming workshops we will be holding to provide information about the project and to promote participation by healthcare providers and consumers.
Electronic health information exchange (HIE) offers many advantages over the current system of obtaining and using health information. One advantage is that comprehensive patient health information is available at the time and place of care, linked to clinical decision support systems and to information about quality, outcomes and cost. Since public trust is fundamental to successful health information exchange initiatives, any proposal for HIE must carefully address concerns about this sensitive and personal information.
Our goal for these meetings is to provide you with information about HIE and to seek your input into our planning and design. We want to understand your concerns and interests and provide information on our efforts to date in developing and implementing the model to enable statewide HIE and our plans to develop strategic and operational plans to help us to reach that goal.
Four workshops are planned Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks and Minot.
